My research merges painting and sculpture into a sculptural-pictorial technique that alternates layering, carving, and resin. Through the act of sculpting the surface to reveal what lies beneath, I explore the theme of authenticity: freeing ourselves from superstructures to rediscover the truth and beauty of who we truly are.

Physically, my artworks come to life on poplar wood panels that undergo repeated cycles of treatment with varnishes. Then, pastes are created by mixing various chemical and natural elements, such as rock fragments, fillers, adhesive gels, and other materials. These pastes are shaped and worked to form the compositions, which are then spray-painted with acrylic colors. Finally, each piece is finished with epoxy resin, which gives it extraordinary chromatic depth and durability.

This work marks an important step in my journey: here painting gives way to sculpture, and the surface becomes living matter to be sculpted.

Too often we build masks, armors, and superstructures to shield ourselves from judgment or difficulties. Yet what truly makes us unique is not what we show on the outside, but what we carry within.

Imperfections, fragilities, the marks that cross us: these are the things that make us authentic, that set us apart. In this work, different layers of matter and color overlap, and the sculptural gesture becomes an invitation to strip away, to let emerge who we really are.

Not the character, but the person.
Not the mask, but the soul.

This is the truth the work seeks to reveal: the beauty of showing ourselves without defenses, just as we are. Imperfect. Unique. Alive.
